El pasado jueves 17 de enero se efectuó 19a entrega de los Critic’s Choice Awards, donde resultó ganadora como Mejor película el drama “12 Years a Slave ”, incluyendo a Lupita Nyong’o como Mejor Actriz de Reparto y a John Ridley como Mejor Guión. Por su parte, “Gravity” fue la que más premios recibió con un total de siete.
Matthew McConaughey y Cate Blanchett ganaron como Mejor Actor y Mejor Actriz por sus respectivos papeles en “Dallas Buyers Club” y “Blue Jasmine”, mientras que Jared Leto ganó el premio al mejor actor de reparto.

Amy Adams muestra su premio ganado por “American Hustle”.
Como Mejor Director ganó Alfonso Cuarón por su trabajo en “Gravity”, film que igualmente ganó en las categorías Mejor Actriz en una película de Acción (Sandra Bullock), mejor fotografía, mejor montaje, mejores efectos visuales, mejor película sci-fi/horror y la mejor puntuación.
Tres premios especiales fueron presentados: el Premio Joel Siegel, que fue para Forest Whitaker, el Premio Luis XIII Genious, que fue para Julie Delpy, Ethan Hawke y Richard Linklater por la trilogía “Before Sunrise”, “Before Sunset” y “Before Midnight”, y el Premio para la Estrella más Caliente de Hollywood , que fue para Benedict Cumberbatch.

Al igual que “12 Years a Slave”, “America Hustle” tuvo 13 nominaciones y ganó cuatro de ellos en las categorías: Mejor Ensamble de Actuación, Mejor Maquillaje, Mejor Comedia y Mejor Actriz en una Comedia (Amy Adams).
La ceremonia de premiación se transmitió en vivo en la costa este en The CW, desde el Barker Hangar en Santa Mónica y fue organizado por Aisha Tyler.
